Data Capture Services

Data capture allows for the extraction of targeted information. The target data could reside on paper, electronic records, voice, or video recordings. During the Input/Capture phase of the document lifecycle, users gather information and input data into a process. At FNT, we interface with client systems at point-of sale and extract information from data warehouses; we process batch files and scan paper records; we also provide manual data entry services for applications including back-file conversion, AP and AR processing, student records, patient records, litigation, and many more. Using office applications such as Microsoft Word or Excel to create a document are common ways to capture information electronically, but capture sub-systems typically scan paper documents and keep electronic images. The images can then be processed through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) or forms recognition software to intelligently route them to a business process or add them into a document management system. An example is scanning an invoice, using forms recognition software to pull the company name and invoice number from it and automatically routing it to a finance system.

Data Normalization

Data normalization is a technique used to protect against logical or structural anomalies that can seriously compromise the integrity of data. By reducing the amount of data redundancies, normalization techniques can minimize the amount of space data takes up, remove the risk of inconsistencies between versions of the same information, and maximize the stability of the data structure.
